Sadaqah, a type of voluntary philanthropy in Islam, helps to redistribute resources and combat inequality and poverty by funding necessary services such as education and healthcare. It embodies Islamic values of empathy, social cohesiveness, and shared responsibility, promoting a more equal society based on compassion and justice.

While Sadaqah enriches the individual who gets it on a single occasion, Sadaqah Jariyah continues to benefit the recipient(s) throughout time. Giving someone food is a Sadaqah that benefits that person at the time, but gifting a water well from which people may collect water on a regular basis is a Sadaqah Jariyah.

Sadaqah is a voluntary act of generosity, hence there are no constraints on how much or who can donate it. We have Sadaqah Jariyah initiatives in over 17 areas where you may give to help with water, healthcare, education, livelihoods, and other needs.

Sadaqah is a kind of voluntary philanthropy that can be donated at any time of year and to whatever purpose the giver chooses. Zakat, on the other hand, is a compulsory charitable gesture that equals 2.5% of a Muslim's yearly savings over the Nisab threshold. While there are no restrictions while donating Sadaqah, there may be some when donating Zakat in terms of who can benefit from the charity.

Sadaqah is a voluntary act of generosity undertaken solely to please Allah (swt) without expecting anything in return. In Arabic, the word Sadaqah literally means righteousness and is derived from the root word sidq, which means sincerity, meaning that Sadaqah is sincerity of faith and virtuous action that leads to a healthy and balanced community.

According to Bukhari, the Prophet Muhammad (saw) was more generous than the blowing wind. Sadaqah is offered only for the sake of pleasing Allah (SWT). However, there are several benefits to giving Sadaqah since we are following the Prophet's (saw) example.
